How to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade: Time, channel, line up, performers, more

The 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is ready to roll.

The parade lineup will include 5,000 volunteers, 16 featured character balloons, 26 floats, 32 heritage and novelty balloons, more than 700 clowns, 12 marching bands and nine performance groups.

The parade will air from 8:30 a.m. to noon in all time zones and then again from 2-5:30 p.m. It will be broadcast simultaneously on NBC and live-streamed on Peacock. Hosts will be “Today” show anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker.

Kicking off the event will be musician Jon Batiste with music icon Cher as the headlining act. Other performers will include Bel Biv Devoe, Brandy, Chicago, David Foster and Katharine McPhee, En Vogue, Jessie James Decker, Penatonix and Miss America Grace Stanke. There will also be 29 clowns crews and seven performance groups, including the Big Apple Circus.

Macy’s giant balloons are back with several new ones: Beagle Scout Snoopy, Blue Cat and Chugs, Kung Fu Panda’s Po, Leo the lizard from the movie “Leo,” Monkey D. Luffy from “One Piece,” The Pillsbury Doughboy and Uncle Dan from the upcoming movie “Migration.”

Floats will be rolling down the street with favorites such as Sesame Street, Macy’s Singing Christmas Tree, Disney Cruiseline and Santa’s Sleigh joined by several newcomers, including The Deliciously Delectable World of Wonka.

Alabama’s A&M University Marching Maroon and White will lead off this year’s festivities with its 250 members. Eleven other bands will be participating in the parade, including Macy’s Great American Marching Band.

Finishing up the parade will be the star guest, Santa Claus, who will usher in the Christmas season.
